TAYLOR Swift fans are adamant a new song from her Folklore album is about her relationship with ex Harry Styles.
The Lover singer, 30, delighted pop fans with the release of the 16-track album today, which is the American’s eighth studio album.
Despite now being happily in a relationship with Joe Alwyn, fans firmly believe new track Cardigan centres on 26-year-old Harry.
Taylor has candidly admitted using past heartbreak, such as her splits with Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris, for musical inspiration.
After her break-up with the 1D star, many believed Out Of The Woods was a take on their short lived romance in 2012.
Many took to Twitter to flag what they saw as a link between the stars as Taylor released the track on 1D’s 10th anniversary, as well as drawing parallels between her music and that of Harry’s track, Fallin.
One wrote of the track’s lyrics: “I just listened to Taylor Swift’s new song CARDIGAN… I cried. It was really good. I can’t help but think it’s for Harry Styles.”
Another put: “Here’s my take on cardigan video #TaylorSwiftfolklore – The piano in the currents is a ref for @Harry_Styles Falling mv (he’s drowning while playing the piano).
“The theme is like ethereal gold green nature vibe which I presume is abt fearless era vibe and her rep of the word young.”
Another insisted: “READ MY THEORIES CAUSE CARDIGAN IS ABOUT HARRY STYLES PERIOD.”
One then mused: “Cardigan is about Harry Styles – obviously.
“Lotsa clues (High Line in Manhattan, flooded piano and released on 1D ten year anniversary).
“Harry Styles “Fine Line” And Taylor Swift “Folklore”. Our Haylor ship is not sinking!”
Lyrics feature a guy “dancing in your Levis” as he makes Taylor his “favourite” while she feels like his “old cardigan.”
Speaking of the release, for which she also directed the video, Taylor said: “Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the “perfect” time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed.
“My gut telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with.”
Meanwhile, the popstar’s album has already secured a host of rave reviews, with The Sun hailing it “passionate and reflective.”
She released Folklore on the same day arch-rival Kanye West was due to reveal his new tracks, yet sadly he missed the deadline to release Donda.
