The Serbian player won 2 MVP titles in 2021 and 2022 along with 5 All-Star appearances. He and his teammates at the Denver Nuggets are very close to winning the first NBA championship in history.
However, besides his basketball talent, Jokic is also known as a family man. He once shared: “Basketball is not the most important thing in my life, and will never be the most important. Honestly, I have more important things than basketball at my house.” . Especially when you have a bad day or a great day, coming home is always the best thing for me.
Nikola Jokic’s brothers: Nemanja and Strahinja Jokic
His two brothers, Nemanja and Strahinja, have been with Nikola Jokic throughout his basketball career, from Sombor in Serbia to Denver in the United States. In 2016, Nikola Jokic revealed to Slam that “my love for basketball comes from my brothers”. Strahinja used to play professional basketball in Europe and Nemanja received a scholarship from Detroit Mercy. During his time in Detroit, he lived with Detroit Pistons center Darko Milicic.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated in 2017, Nemanja said: “I made a mistake. When I was young, basketball wasn’t my number one priority, it was going out, drinking, having fun with the girls. I Deciding that I won’t go to practice when I still need my family’s support. That’s my mistake.”
Because of realizing this, Nemanja tries very hard to keep Nikola from making the same mistake as him. He and Strahinja moved to Denver when the younger brother entered the NBA in 2015. They lived with Nikola and his girlfriend (now wife) in a 3-bedroom apartment.
“He’s a smart guy and I’m confident he won’t fall here. However, this is an important time and I want him to have the support that I didn’t have before. I always told him saying, “I’m living in my dream. Don’t underestimate it. Don’t make the mistake we made””, Nemanja recounted.
Nowadays, NBA fans are no longer strangers to the image of Nemanja and Strahinja regularly appearing in the stands to cheer on the matches of Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic.
Nikola Jokic’s wife and daughter: Natalija and Ognjena Jokic
Nikola married his longtime girlfriend Natalija in October 2020 in a ceremony held in his hometown of Sombor, Serbia. They loved each other since high school and Natalija moved to the US first to attend college, then they were reunited when Nikola joined the Nuggets at the beginning of the 2015/2016 season.

The couple welcomed their first child, a girl named Ognjena, in September 2021. Speaking to the press, Jokic once said:
“At my house, Natalija is the MVP. She gives so much to us and to the baby. I’m so happy to have her, and even happier to see her face every time the baby arrives. look at Natalija. It’s amazing and I love it so much”.
There is a special detail that Jokic always plays with his wedding ring carefully hanging on his shoe, showing his love for his family.
