Cat uses pet camera to guilt-trip her mom for moving away to college!

“Enroll her in your college.”

One of the most difficult parts of going off to college is leaving the pets you grew up with behind. You go from seeing them every day to suddenly having to face a whole new environment without your beloved friend by your side. It goes without saying that the separation is difficult on the pets who are left behind, too.

College student Alyssa adores her cat, Winnie. So ever since she left home for college, she and Winnie have had a hard time being separated.

Thankfully, Alyssa has found a way to keep in touch with Winnie. She and her mom set up a 24/7 camera in her family’s kitchen that allows her to watch Winnie throughout the day.

Sometimes, Alyssa even talks to Winnie through the camera’s speaker — which, evidently, informed the cat that she can communicate through the device as well.

After Winnie caught onto that fact, she went right up to it and begged Alyssa to come home. She even rubbed her face on the camera, the way she would have rubbed on Alyssa if she’d really been there.

Alyssa’s mom sent her the video, and her heart instantly broke. She’d only been gone at school for one day, and Winnie already missed her that much. Everyone else who saw the video was equally touched.

“[Drowning] in a pool of my own tears as we speak,” one commenter wrote.

“This would wreck me,” another wrote.

A few days later, Alyssa was checking out the camera footage when she actually caught Winnie doing the begging live. She was making eye contact with the lens and pressing her paws together in a pleading gesture. She might as well have been saying, “Come home to me.”

Heartbroken commenters couldn’t bear to see the two kept apart any longer.

“Get home now,” a commenter wrote.

“Enroll her in your college,” someone else suggested.

Thankfully, though, Alyssa and Winnie won’t have to wait too long before they’re reunited. Alyssa has a visit home planned for June 20, which is just a few days away now. And until then, they can keep in touch through the camera.
