The audience is buzzing with dissatisfaction over Taylor Swift!

Fans were upset because they spent a large amount of money to buy VIP tickets but the seats were blocked from view, making it almost impossible to see Taylor Swift live on stage.

The seats are not worth the ticket price

From June 7-9, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour world tour stops in Edinburgh (Scotland’s capital). Like other cities on the previous tour, the three shows at Murrayfield Stadium, which can accommodate 73,000 people, were all sold out.

However, even though the performances were rated 5 stars, a part of Swifties did not have a satisfactory experience. Some fans complained that they spent a large amount of money to buy the most expensive tickets but the seats were not as expected.

According to Daily Mail , the most expensive ticket package to enter the Taylor Swift show is called It’s Been A Long Time Coming Package, priced at 662 pounds (about 843 USD), not including other fees. In addition to admission tickets, Swifties who buy this package also own many special items such as souvenir concert tickets, pins, stickers, postcards, tote bags… The female singer describes this as an unforgettable pre-order seat ticket.

However, sharing their experiences on TikTok, many people were dissatisfied because the seats were out of sight or off to the side, causing them to struggle to see their idols.

Holly Evans (29 years old) praised Taylor’s concert as a great performance. However, she was bothered because it was almost impossible to see the Anti-hero singer. The video posted by Evans shows her seat at the back of the crowd and blocked by iron fences and tents.

Some fans were upset because they paid for the most expensive ticket package but their view was obscured and they couldn’t see their idols.

Sinead Fitz had the same experience. She accused Ticketmaster (the official ticket seller for the Eras Tour ) of fraud by seating her in an area with obstructed visibility twice.

According to the TikToker, she contacted TicketMaster in March because she was concerned that the seats were not ideal but nothing was resolved. Reality happened exactly as she predicted. She then worked with staff at Murrayfield and was transferred. However, the new seats are not much better.

Another audience member, named Michael, also boldly bought It’s Been A Long Time Coming Package and felt unworthy because his position looked directly at a pillar blocking the stage.

“I had a great time, but I could barely see Taylor. VIP seats but limited visibility, what does that mean? Can anyone explain? I spent a lot of money to have a limited vision,” Michael said.

Ticketmaster has not yet commented on customer complaints.

Many complaints about seating were left on TikTok after watching the Taylor Swift show.

Inadequacies in ticket sales

This is not the first time this unit has been criticized for selling Taylor Swift show tickets. In 2023, when tickets first went on sale, Ticketmaster was criticized because fans who booked early had to pay £662 for expensive VIP tickets, but then a similar number of seats were put up for sale for 184 pounds (234 USD), except there are no accompanying items.

Early ticket hunters said they were shocked by the price drop. They were angry that they had to pay nearly £500 for a few posters. Meanwhile, others are happy to have good seats in the house for only 27% of the original price.

In addition, fans also blame Ticketmaster for the situation of ticket selling and price increases.

Tickets to Taylor’s UK shows appeared on platforms like Stubhub and viagogo within minutes of going on sale. The listed price shocked many people.

Tickets with a face value of 170 pounds (216 USD) were raised to nearly 3,000 pounds (3,818 USD). Even some tickets to Wembley Stadium in London (UK) cost more than 9,800 pounds (12,474 USD) even though they are not VIP class.

A similar situation also occurred at the Cardiff stop (Wales). Welsh MP Cardiff Brennan described his feelings after seeing the prices for Taylor Swift show tickets on resale sites as “appalling”. According to him, the black market was active within just an hour of admission tickets to the concert at Principality Stadium going on sale. What’s more shocking is that normal class seats cost 3,352 pounds (4,267 USD).

The audience believes that if Ticketmaster sets a policy that only primary ticket bookers are allowed to see the show at the time of opening, speculators will not have a chance to raise prices.

Taylor Swift is also not satisfied with this situation. She said she felt bad because most of the tickets sold did not go to real fans.

As planned, Taylor Swift performed in Cardiff on June 18. After that, she was in London on June 21, 22 and 23. The British capital once again welcomes the pop music superstar on August 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20. This is also the last stop of the European leg of the Eras Tour .
