Some time ago, a story spread on social networks that shocked the public.

The five year old whose mouth was tied was finally rescued!

In 2015, a civilian found Caitlyn wandering the streets with electrical tape tied tightly to her mouth. Her mouth was so tight that she couldn’t eat or drink. People were shocked by its appearance and immediately took it to a veterinarian.

The injury caused severe nerve damage and required extensive surgery to reconstruct the jaw. Vets doubt that Caitlyn will one day make a full recovery because her lip was broken and her black tongue had to be removed.

The image of the 15-year-old puppy has caused a backlash demanding justice. People were angry at what happened to Caitlyn and demanded that the person who harmed her be punished.

Prosecutors have filed criminal charges against Caitlyn’s abuser, William Leonard Dodson, who claimed to have muzzled her because she wouldn’t stop barking. Dodson pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison – the maximum sentence in South Carolina for animal cruelty.
In 2017, the judge extended the sentence to 15 years in prison.

Attorney Ted Corvey, who took on Caitlyn’s case in 2017, decided to adopt her from her long-time family. Although she still had to deal with her injuries, she was mentally traumatized and became nervous around men due to the trauma she suffered from her violent owner.

Caitlyn’s fear gradually disappeared and she was one of the most loving and lovable people I’ve ever met, Corvey told the “Post” and “Courier.”

Caitlin has continued to fight, and she is proof that there is hope for all victims of violence.
