After a quite successful 2018 American Music Awards season, suddenly a special “couple” became famous: Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello. And recently in an interview, Camila Cabello couldn’t hide her pride for her best friend Taylor Swift and shared something that made fans “awkward”!
The couple became the highlight of the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday, both taking home many awards and being the most accomplished girls on the night.
Taylor Swift is even the person who broke the record of female artist with the most AMAs awards of all time previously held by the legendary Whitney Houston. MC Keltie Knight of ET newspaper, when interviewing Camila, saw her excitement with the I Did Something Bad singer.
“I will be a fan of Taylor Swift my whole life. I’m very excited to participate in the Reputation Tour, and I feel very lucky to be known as her interesting friend,” the Havana singer shared. “When I performed on stage, she, as you see, wearing a dress like a disco ball, stood up and cheered for me. I mean, she’s so admirable. She is very deserving of everything she has achieved in her entire career. I still have to learn a lot from her. I feel very lucky to be her friend.”
Camila and Taylor sat together in the front row of the stage at the AMAs and the photographer caught many adorable moments of the two of them that night.
Camila shared that she was very surprised with the Best New Artist award but tried to suppress it to “release” that joy after performing the song Consequences.
“It’s crazy. I had a hard time controlling that excitement. You know, I couldn’t believe it, I couldn’t do it. That’s something I’m very excited about, but my performance is here, what I need to focus on now is the iron performance. I need to be 100% focused and stay as calm as possible. I’m very nervous about this performance. But I feel like I did well, I controlled my energy.”
With such a close friendship, Taylor and Camila are still missing one more thing to complete their friendship: a collaborative product together!
