Exciting News: Harvard University to Offer a Dedicated Course on Taylor Swift!

According to The Harvard Crimson, the English Department at Harvard University is planning to launch a private teaching course about Taylor Swift and the female singer’s globally famous songs. The new course will be titled Taylor Swift and Her World and taught by English professor Stephanie Burt.

“We’re lucky to live in an age where one of our great artists is also one of the most famous people on the planet. So why wouldn’t you have a course on that? ?”, Professor Burt told the Crimson.

However, in this special course, students at Harvard will not only analyze the music of the 1989 singer but also explore larger aspects including race, class and white America. Required readings that students will need to do in the course include The Song of the Lark by Willa Cather and The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man by James Weldon Johnson.

“A number of required reading works aim to address the urban-rural divide in America. The curriculum clearly states that students will learn to think about the writing practices of whites, Southerners, and Southerners. transatlantic and strange implications”, the Crimson newspaper stated.

Students will receive college credit for delving into the lyrics, music, and influence of Taylor Swift and related works to better understand these specialized topics.

In fact, Harvard is not the first university to include the topic of pop stars in its curriculum. Previously, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Bruce Springsteen, Harry Styles and Jay-Z were all studied in many courses at universities in the US.
