LeBron James Leads Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Three years after the Cоvid-19 оutbreak fоrced a number оf elite US players tо miss the Tоkyо оlympics, the 2024 “Dream Team” will оnce again have a lineup full оf future Hall оf Famers and several оf the game’s mоst prоmising yоung players.LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, who missed the last two Olympics, will serve as the team’s mainstay.

The 39-year-old James has already won two gold medals (2008, 2012) and one bronze medal (2004).

James’s Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, the Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard, the Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton, and the Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo will all be present.

As the fifth member of the Warriors team to represent Team USA in an Olympics, 36-year-old Curry will be competing in his first Olympics.

The club will also include Philadelphia 76ers big man and current NBA MVP Joel Embiid. Embiid has decided to compete for the United States in his first Olympics.Embiid could have chosen to play for Cameroon, his home nation, or France.

Gregg Popovich will not be leading the team as head coach; Steve Kerr of Golden State, who led Team USA to gold in the Tokyo Games, will take over.

The US squad will attend training camp and exhibition games in Las Vegas prior to traveling to Paris in July.

Starting on July 27, the men’s basketball competition will take place following the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
