LeBron James sends a message of equality to Donald Trump

“King James” wore shoes with the words “Equality” printed on them in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 106-99 victory over the Washington Wizards.

During his first visit to Washington this season, LeBron James took the field wearing special shoes with the words “Equality” printed on them. James’ actions were aimed at President Donald Trump, because the Wizards’ home stadium is only about a mile from the White House.

LeBron James once criticized Mr. Trump for using sports to divide people, in an incident related to racism three months ago. When asked about special shoes in the match against Washington this morning, LeBron said: “We all know where we are, and who is the leader here.”

“King James” continued to make statements aimed directly at President Donald Trump: “It doesn’t matter about skin color or religion, everyone has equal rights and is allowed to express their opinions on everything. This is a great country, we will never let one person influence the image of the whole country.”

James didn’t seem to be used to the special shoes, he didn’t play really well in the first half of the match. Cleveland’s star then changed shoes, and finished the game with his third consecutive triple-double, and fourth in the last five games. Scoring 20 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds, helped the home team win 106-99, but for James, this was still not his successful match.

“I played very poorly in this match. Maybe I’m a bit strict with myself, but today I wasn’t strong enough, losing the ball six times. My teammates corrected my mistake,” James said after the match.

The 17th victory in the last 18 matches helped Cleveland nearly catch up with the Eastern leader Boston Celtics. On a morning where the NBA only played four matches, the victories all belonged to the Eastern teams.

Like Cleveland, the three teams right behind them, Toronto, Detroit and Indiana, all added one victory to their overall record. Toronto beat Sacramento 108-93, Detroit beat Orlando 114-110 and Indiana beat Brooklyn 109-97.
