A few years ago, Danielle Chermont’s family moved into a new condominium with their adorable dog, Amora. The new place was sunny and airy, featuring a grassy front yard where Amora could play.
Amora loves it — but there’s something else she loves, as well.
Not long after moving in, Chermont and her family made the acquaintance of the woman who lives next door. She, too, has a dog, very similar in appearance to Amora.
His name is Nick.
One day, while Nick’s owner was out running errands, Chermont’s mom heard him barking and whining next door.
“My mother felt sorry for him being alone, so she brought him into our house,” Chermont told The Dodo.
That’s when Amora and Nick really hit it off. But this wouldn’t be their only playdate.
Since that day, Nick began taking it upon himself to drop by Amora’s home whenever the mood strikes him.
He’ll bark and scratch at the front door until he’s let inside.
And it couldn’t be clearer who it is he’s there to see:

“He just enters the house now,” Chermont said. “He feels like he lives here.”
Sometimes, Amora hears Nick at the door and waits eagerly to greet him.

“Amora loves her friend’s company,” Chermont said.

They’re a match made in heaven.
Though Nick’s sole focus is on Amora, meaning he rarely stops to greet Chermont’s family during his visits, they’re always happy when he drops by.
“My family has always been very attached to dogs, so we love welcoming him,” Chermont said.
